Glazing choices are an important element to consider and review so you find the right solution for your home. Glass can enhance the way your home looks and feels, but it also adds to the warmth and thermal efficiency of your home.
With options to reduce UV, minimise heat loss, and increase year-round comfort, your selection can have a significant impact on the performance of your glazing. Low-emissivity glass is now a requirement for new builds, as per clause H1 Energy Efficiency of the New Zealand Building Code. We have different glass options that meet all the R-Value requirements for all six zones.
Some factors to consider and discuss with your manufacturer are the orientation and shading of your home, the climate and noise around where you live. Here is an overview of our high performance glass offerings; The AGP System® with two Low-E options to choose from.
The recommended glazing choice for our window systems
New Zealand's all-round best performing double-glazing, The AGP System®, is a double-glazed unit which is made using the best components and technology available in New Zealand. The panes of glass are processed using a highly automated, precision process to ensure their high quality.
A warm-edge spacer that bonds the two glass panes of your double-glazed windows and doors apart and creates an airtight bond to ensure the best gas retention of argon gas used in The AGP System®.
An invisible inert gas which is used as an insulator to create an additional barrier to heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, improving thermal performance.
A continually evolving formulation used to ensure durable bonding between glass panes. This creates an airtight seal for the space between panes, providing additional protection for the primary seal.
Solux-E® and Solux Ultra® are low emissivity (Low-E) coatings on the glass, which are virtually invisible. They improve the level of insulation of the home. The Low-E coating is applied to the inside surface of the exterior glass pane, protecting it from the elements. Solux-E® and Solux Ultra® coatings reflect the heat back to the inside, reducing winter heat loss through the glass. The reverse happens during the summer helping to limit overheating.
Our virtually invisible Low-E coating which delivers year-round comfort and energy savings.
Solux Ultra is the best choice to control overheating and achieve ultimate thermal performance.
Updating your joinery during a renovation is a great opportunity to improve the thermal performance and insulation properties of your windows and doors by opting for a high-performance glass option. The AGP System®, is great option as it is a double-glazed system which is supplied with the Solux-E® Low-E coating as standard.
A 'low emissivity' coating is a thin, transparent layer which is applied to the glass to reflect heat back to the inside and reduce heat transfer, improving the thermal performance of the window or door.
