Expansive views with Minima

Minima is a sophisticated sliding door system for outdoor flow on a grand scale, primarily for architecturally-designed homes, commercial atrium and entertainment spaces. The innovative product allows tall heights with maximum transparency and flush sills.

Eye-catching door heights up to 4.5m are possible in a wide choice of fixed and sliding panel configurations. Bold architecture balancing functionality, understated aluminium sightlines, and overheight aesthetics is possible with Minima.

To create the clearest vision to outdoor spaces and views, frames are designed to be recessed into floor, walls and ceiling. The concealed sill track is hidden beneath a threshold that allows suitable flooring materials to be overlaid, leaving an 11mm-wide slot. The bottom rail for Minima doors has a height of only 22mm, with glass edge flush with frame at jamb and head for unobstructed vision. Maximum panel width is 2.8 metres.

Minima Sliding Doors are designed and made in New Zealand. Like all APL products, they are tested at APL’s Waikato based test booth for air and water penetration and structural integrity. Proudly made to withstand the variable weather conditions wherever you are in New Zealand.

Key features of Minima Sliding Doors

A high performance sliding door with maximum transparency and flush sills
Can be made up to 4500mm depending on site conditions
Maximum panel width is 2800mm with a maximum area of 12m². Due to the weight of the sliders and the need for a perfectly level sill, floor sag must be avoided. Ground level applications are therefore optimum, with geotechnical engineering advice recommended.
In order to minimise the appearance of aluminium the frame is recessed into the floor, walls and ceiling for clear sightlines
The track system is completely hidden beneath a threshold that allows for suitable flooring materials to be laid, leaving only an 11mm wide slot
While there may be multiple tracks at head and sill there is only ever one track at the jamb
A bottom rail facing of only 22mm is visible, with glass lines flush with frame at jambs and head
Vertical members between panels are a slender 30mm wide (when viewed from front and rear), with two different fin sizes to suit the application.
